GORGEOUS gals galore. All 300 of them will jam-pack the Jam House in Queen Street on Sunday for a charity lunch - a lunch that may well spill into tea and supper.
Organisers Yvonne McLellan and Pamela Gargaro assure me: "Strictly no men, if we can discount a guest appearance by John Leslie."
Ever the wallflower, one imagines Big J will feel uncomfortable, if Gucci Bracelet not disorientated, amid so many women. Deserving of our sympathy.
Says Yvonne: "The same event last year lasted well into the evening, almost around the clock. We'll have shoes to sell, handbags, jewellery, a live band, a chocolate fountain. Everything a woman could want under one roof."
And, who knows, one of them could well be fortunate enough to have JL see her safely onto the last bus.
The Tiffany Earrings charity to benefit from the occasion is cclasp (children with cancer and leukaemia advice and support for parents). A few tickets available. Call 07718 912221.
Lighting up city
Always nice to see a touch of greenery in the normally barren Rose Street. So doff hats to the Dome. More green guaranteed at the Dome's George Street face. It takes seven weeks to put up the Christmas decorations. An electricity sub-station will be required for their 18-foot tree's 14,000 lights. Batteries not included.
A healthy supply

embroidered patches Scottish Power says that some of its power stations will soon be running on willow and cereal. So we can count on a regular supply. Oats in my dotage, possibly out of a power station lum. No call for porridge for brekkers.
Last words . .
. . . from an in-tune Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson): "Mikhail Gorbachev got it right when he said that the new oil is water. Nations will be going to war in 50 years' time for access to water."
